Not sure which package to choose?

All packages analyze the same blood sample at the same laboratory. The difference is how many chromosomal variations the analysis covers.

  • Basic — you want to know about the three most common trisomies: Down, Edwards and Patau syndrome.
  • Standard — you also want to know about sex chromosome variations, such as Turner and Klinefelter syndrome.
  • Pro — you want the most comprehensive analysis, covering trisomy 9, 16 and 22 and 92 microdeletion syndromes.
  • Twins Basic or Twins Pro — you are expecting twins. The analysis works differently in that case, and sex chromosome variations cannot be assessed.

You can change your package right up until payment at checkout.

Everything you need for your NIPT is included

You pay nothing at the testing location, and no further fees are added later in your order.

  • Test kit shipped within 24 hours
  • Free shipping
  • Blood draw at a testing clinic
  • Prepaid return shipping
  • Analysis at a Swedac-accredited laboratory
  • You are assigned your own responsible doctor
  • Follow-up if increased probability is found
  • No further fees

Ultrasound is not included — that is a separate examination carried out as part of your regular prenatal care, with your midwife. An early ultrasound is recommended before NIPT to confirm gestational age and the number of fetuses, but it is not a requirement, and you do not need to book a private scan. The choice is yours.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to what you're wondering

What is NIPT?

NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing) is a blood test that analyzes cell-free fetal DNA in the pregnant person's blood to assess the probability of certain chromosomal variations in the fetus.

When can I take the test?

The test can be taken from pregnancy week 10. We recommend ordering a few days before you want to take the sample, so the kit arrives in time.

What does NIPT cost?

From 3,990 SEK. The price includes the test kit delivered to your home, shipping, the blood draw, the analysis and the result from a doctor — no further fees apply.

Where is my sample analyzed?

In Gothenburg, at our partner laboratory Life Genomics — a laboratory accredited by Swedac according to ISO 15189.

Is the test dangerous for me or my baby?

No. NIPT is a standard blood draw from the arm and carries no risk of miscarriage, unlike invasive tests such as amniocentesis.

How long until I get my result?

Your result is normally delivered within 6–10 working days via your encrypted patient portal.

What is the difference between the packages?

Basic covers the three most common trisomies. Standard adds sex chromosome variations. Pro is our most comprehensive analysis, covering more chromosomal variations and microdeletion syndromes. If you are expecting twins, choose Twins Basic or Twins Pro instead.

Do I need to have an ultrasound?

We recommend having an early ultrasound before NIPT, since it confirms your exact gestational age and the number of fetuses — both important for an accurate result. That said, it is not a requirement, and the choice is entirely yours: you can order NIPT either way. An early ultrasound is normally done as part of your regular prenatal care, not something you need to book specially for this test.

What happens if the test shows an increased probability?

Our staff will contact you and help you with information about next steps, such as a referral for follow-up testing.
